Today, EMC officially announced availability of the Avamar 6.0 software. This is big news indeed as we will see interoperability between the Data Domain appliances, increase backup and recovery performance for VMware, over double the capacity in the same physical footprint with the new 7.8tb storage nodes and more. I will take some time over the next few weeks to provide more details on each of these new features and explain what this means for your datacenter.
