I don’t always hashtag my blog post titles, but when I do it’s because I want an extra level of social joy in there. The same joy I felt when I saw that I was on the Elect ’14 list announced today. I can already hear my parents asking me, “What does that even mean?” You can read the charter below, and in a nutshell it is a huge thank you from EMC for the work I did last year spreading the word via my various social avenues. This is recognition for all of those tweets, Facebook posts, LinkedIn status updates and blog articles you read last year. This also means I will be upping my game this year to ensure I am bringing valuable content to the community. It’s an honor to be listed alongside such an impressive group of people, and a highlight of my professional career. A special thanks to the EMC Elect nomination panel for choosing me to be part of the group this year.
The charter:
EMC Elect is a community-driven recognition and thank you for an individual’s engagement with EMC as a brand. Why is this important – critical, even – for EMC? Here’s where it all began:
Our charter: The team at EMC has designed this program to increase investment and engagement with EMC within our global community – customers, partners, and EMC employees alike.
Our goal: Provide EMC Elect members with unprecedented access into EMC product and service teams; enable them with exclusive privileges; and further their status as community leaders.
Our vision: EMC Elect will be held with high regard within the industry, highlighting and enhancing thought leadership in the fields of data center management, cloud computing, and big data. The program will lead to innovative breakthroughs and a stronger community.
